Water Pump housing
WHAT
¸ß±¶ÀºÇò was asked to develop a process to secure the cover, which is part of a new designed water pump housing made of die-cast aluminum.
WHY
The application required a long approach stroke but a slow, well-controlled linear forming speed to form the die-cast aluminum, a very brittle material.
Significant criteria for this new product line were cycle-time, no scratching of any components, no broken-off particles (there are active electronics inside the housing), and the finished roll-formed part had to be watertight, plus of course, not jeopardize functionality.
HOW
With the fully programmable ¸ß±¶ÀºÇò ELECTRIC roll-forming machine, all customer's criteria were fulfilled. Traditional CLASSIC pneumatic machines could not provide enough stroke, linear speed, or adequate control necessary during the forming cycle to meet the customer's requirements. Due to these limitations, the servo-controlled ELECTRIC machine was a perfect fit and the most economical solution!
